2 held for illegal extraction of minerals

Srinagar, May 6: Acting against the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police today seized 2 vehicles and arrested 2 persons in Baramulla.
A police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan arrested 2 persons and seized 2 vehicles (tippers) involved in the illegal extraction & transportation of minerals at Khanpeth Mirgund, police said.
They have been identified as Mohammad Afzal Dar son of Gh Ahmad Dar resident of Dusslipora and Idrees Hussain Rather son of Mohd Ramzan Rather resident of Gagarpora Magam.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pattan and further investigation has been initiated.
