JAMMU, Dec 26: The 20th National Matsogi-Do Championship 2025 will be organised from December 28 to 31 at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu. The four-day national-level event is expected to showcase high-level martial arts competition and sporting excellence.
Addressing a press conference, Taranjit Singh Tony, J&K UT President of the Matsogi-Do Association, shared details of the championship and credited Gurdeep Singh, General Secretary, Matsogi-Do Federation of India, for bringing the prestigious event to Jammu and Kashmir. He informed that around 1,200 players from various States across the country will participate, along with nearly 70 technical officials and 30 volunteers.
He further stated that a total cash prize of Rs 4.50 lakh will be awarded to winners in different categories. Outstanding performers will be selected for upcoming international events, the details of which will be announced later. All arrangements, including accommodation, meals and transportation for players and officials, have been finalised to ensure the smooth conduct of the Championship.
According to the schedule, December 28 will feature the opening ceremony, weight check and draw fixtures. Sub-junior events will be held on December 29, boys’ junior and senior categories on December 30 and girls’ categories along with group fights on December 31, followed by the closing ceremony. The Championship is being supported by sponsors including Jodhamal Public School, Unique International Public School and Ajay Choudhary Foundation Kathua.
