Samba police arrests 3 bovine smugglers, rescues 4 animals

SAMBA, Feb 12: Samba police has foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal, arrested three bovine smugglers and rescued four bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers.
Police said acting on information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Station, Ghagwal during vehicle checking at Naka NHW Tapyal, intercepted a Mahindra Load Carrier bearing Registration Number, RJ13GC-5277 for its checking. During checking, four bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally.
The bovine smugglers identified as Bhagirath son of Het Ram of Chakbhagsar district Ganganagar (Rajasthan), Rajinder, son of Juman of Sadulshahar district Ganganagar (Rajasthan) and Nisar Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Ahsan Mir of Sadura Fatehpora tehsil and district Anantnag have been arrested. All the bovines have been rescued and the vehicle involved in the illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized, police said.
A case FIR No. 17/2026 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
The arrests was made under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
